Bangabandhu T20 Cup: Liton Das highest scorer, Mustafizur highest wicket taker

The Bangabandhu T20 Cup Cricket came to an end at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Friday last. Gemcon Khulna emerged the champions in the five-team shorter version cricket tournament, while Gazi Group Chattogram became runners-up in the cricket meet. Opener Liton Das of Gazi Group Chattogram was the highest scorer of the tournament with 393 runs. Captain of Fortune Barishal Tamim Iqbal was the second highest scorer with 324 runs. Skipper of Minister Group Rajshahi Najmul Hossain Shanto secured the third position scoring 301 runs. Yasir Ali of Beximco Dhaka obtained the fourth the spot making 294 runs. Soumya Sarkar of Gazi Group Chattogram became the fifth highest scorer with 292 runs.
Three batsmen of the tournament hit centuries. Najmul Hossain Shanto cracked 109, while Mohammad Naim of Baximco Dhaka hit 105 and Rarvez Hossain Emon of Fortune Barishal made exact 100 (not out).
On the other hand, Mustafizur Rahman of Gazi Group Chattogram was the highest wicket taker in the meet with 22 wickets. The ‘Cutter Master’ was adjudged the Man of the Tournament.
Muktar Ali of Beximco Dhaka was the second highest wicket taker with 17 wickets. Kamrul Islam Rabbi of Fortune Barishal and Shoriful Islam of Gazi Group Chattogram bagged 16 wickets each playing their respective nine and ten matches. Shohidul Islam of Gemcon Khulna was the fifth highest wicket taker with 15 wickets.
Promising Robiul Islam of Beximco Dhaka and experienced Mashrafe Bin Mortaza of Gemcon Khulna claimed five wickets each for 27 and 35 runs respectively.
Fortune Barishal piled up the highest total of 221 for the loss of two wickets against Minister Group Rajshahi in their round robin league match on December 8.
Minister Group Rajshahi scored the second highest total of 220 runs for the loss of seven wickets against Fortune Barishal in their round robin league match on December 8.
Gemcon Khulna scored the lowest total of 86 runs against Gazi Group Chattogram on November 28.
Beximco Dhaka scored the second lowest total of 88 runs against Gazi Group Chattogram on November 26.
