8 robbers held in city’s Mohammadpur

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested at least eight suspected members of a robber gang during their preparation for committing robbery from the city’s Mohammadpur on Wednesday night.
During the raid, RAB recovered ramda, machete, 550 pieces of yaba pills and five mobile phone sets from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Tipu, 26, Towshif,19, Md. Sonu,25, Abid Hossain,34, Arif Hossain,35, Abdur Rahman,19, Md. Sumon,15, and Md. Chonnu Miah,15..
ASP Mohammad Mohiuddin Faruque, Company Commander of RAB-2 confirmed the news to the media and said that they arrested a gang of eight robbers from the Krishi Market area with the cooperation of locals while they were taking preparation for committing robbery. Among the eight members, there are two teenages. The gang has been involved with crimes since long, RAb-2 Commander added.
