RMG workers stage demo demanding closer of factory

Workers of some ready-made garments (RMG) on Saturday morning staged separate demonstrations in city’s Turag and Gazipur Sadar in order to stop the factory as cautionary measures to check the outbreak of coronavirus.
At Turag, IFL Factory workers started the demonstration in front of the factory in the morning.
Later, they brought out a procession in the area demanding closure of the factory and payment of their overdue amount. AGM Nurul Islam, Administrator of the Factory, said the factory was scheduled for closing on Saturday. Salaries of workers will be paid in the first week of the next month.
Meanwhile in Gazipur, workers of Safa Sweater and Jahin Textile also staged demonstrations on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway for the same issue.
