Minor girl dies mysteriously in city

Law enfocers recovered the dead body of a minor girl from the deceased’s city residence at Dakshin Khan in Dhaka on Monday midnight.
Getting information, law enforcers reached the venue on Monday midnight and recovered the body of Suraiya Akter from the spot.
Meanwhile, an allegation of torturing the daughter to death has been also raised against her stepmother whom police have arrested.
Mosharraf Hossain, Sub-Inspector of Dakshin Khan Police Station, confirmed the matter to the media that the body bore several marks of torture.
As such, police detained victim’s step mother Shibli Begum, 26, suspecting her involvement in the death, while her father Hafizul Islam had fled the scene, the SI added.
The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Suraiya used to live with her father Hafizul and her step mother ever since her parents divorced.
