BB, Mercantile Bank sign deal

Mercantile Bank PLC has formally entered into a participatory agreement with Bangladesh Bank under a Tk 10,000 (ten thousand) crore refinancing scheme.

The signing ceremony took place at the Head Office of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday.

Present on behalf of Bangladesh Bank were AKM Saiduzzaman, Director of the Agricultural Credit Department-2, and Rafia Sultana, Additional Director.

Mercantile Bank was represented by Dr. Md. Zahid Hossain, Deputy Managing Director & CBO.

, and Md. Sajjadur Rahman, FAVP & Head of the Agricultural Credit Division, alongside other officials from both the organizations.

Bolstering the rural economy has been a core focus since the inception of Mercantile Bank’s journey. This agreement directly aligns with the bank’s long-term commitment to establishing a robust, sustainable economic atmosphere within marginal communities.
