Bangladesh-India Nazrul Conference ends

On the occasion 43rd death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, Nazrul Academy organised seven-day long ‘Bangladesh India Nazrul Conference’ (Part-1) recently.
On the concluding day of the week-long conference, a discussion meeting and musical programme were arranged at the auditorium of Nazrul Academy in the capital’s Moghbazar area last week where Ekushey Award winner noted poet Jahanara Arzu, who is also founding member of Nazrul Academy and wife of former deputy president of Bangladesh, justice of Supreme Court AKM Nurul Islam, was present as the chief guest in the programme.
Presided over by noted poet Abdul Muqit Chowdhury, Nazrul researcher and General Secretary of Nazrul Academy Mintu Rahman gave welcome speech on the occasion.
Nazrul researcher and poet Hasan Alim, poet, essayist and former chairman of NBR Dr Abdul Mazid Khan, chief of Agnibina Nazrul Charcha Kendra Rajorshee Roy, Principal of Nazrul Academy noted Nazrul artiste Yaqub Ali Khan and noted Nazrul artiste Ferdous Ara also spoke in the programme.
Besides Rajorshree Roy, Niladri Nath, Monjusha Chakraborty, Bonani Dey, Madonna Chatterjee, Sayoni Ganguly, Ruma Sinha, Bolaka Das, Trisha Roy, Arpita Dutta and Monami Das of Agnibeena Nazrul Charcha Kendra received crests from the chief guest of the function.
Besides them, artistes of Nazrul Academy also performed in the programme which was telecasted live on Facebook channel, Nazrul TV.
