Construction of Bangabandhu Maritime University begins

The construction work of permanent campus of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Raham Maritime University begins at Hamidchar area under Bandar Thana in the port city .
Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel formally unveiled the construction work as Chief Guest.
In connection of the formally ceremony of construction, a function was arranged at Hotel Radison Blue yesterday.
The chief guest in his brief deliberations said this university will play a greater role for higher education on maritime , research in sea resources and extractions of sea resources and evolve of modern maritime technology.
Vice chancellor of the university Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal presided over the function.
Among others, Chairamn of Universty Grants Commission Prof l Kazi Shahidullah, CDA Chairman Jahirul Islam Dobash, Registrar , Deans and Project Direclor were present on the occasion.
Mentionable that this university will be situated on 107 acres of land of Bandar thana area of the city near to estuary of river Karnaphuli .
