Youth jailed over eve teasing at Matiranga

A mobile court sentenced a youth to one month of prison for teasing a Madrasa girl in Matiranga upazila of the district. Amit Chakraborty, Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Matiranga Upazila, gave the verdict on Saturday afternoon.
The convict was identified as Abdul Malek, 25, son of Abdul Aziz, residents of Jaynal Member Para under Bellchhari union of Matiranga upazila.
Matiranga Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shamsuddin Bhuiyan said, on basis of the complaint of the family of a Madrasa student’s, police arrested the accused Abdul Malek. Later, when he was produced in a mobile court, the court sent him to jail.
Amit Chakraborty, Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Matiranga Upazila said, accused Abdul Malek intercepted the student while she was going and returning home to Madrasa and passed bad comments on her for a long time. At one stage, the girl informed the matter to her family.
