Mothers Take Care of All

Mohammad Ishtaque Hossain :
Mother is the sweetest word in the living world. Most of the people keep their mother at the core of their heart. All irrespective of caste, creed or community hold the position of their mothers very high.
The meaning of being a mother is undoubtedly endless. A mother is a protector, guide, disciplinarian and friend as well. A mother is a selfless, loving human who sacrifices many of her needs and herself for satisfying the wants and requirements of their children. A mother works hard to make sure her child equipped with knowledge, skills and abilities to make him or her as a competent human being. Being a mother is perhaps the hardest, the most rewarding job a woman can ever experience. Mother loves her children and that cannot be described in words. It is endless and priceless.
Mothers not only sacrifice for their children, they also come forward to rescue others’ children with motherly affection. A mother acquires motherly qualities by dint of her inherent cognitive virtues. Her care is not limited to her children, her affection and feeling surpasses all as the term mother qualifies it.
Oliver Wendell Holmes (1841- 1935), an American Jurist and Acting Chief Justice of the United States, once said about his mother: “Youth fades; love droops; the leaves of friendship fall; A mother’s secret hope outlives them all.”
Another American Statesman and soldier who served as the first President of the United States from 1789 to 1797 and was one of the Founding Fathers of the United States – George Washington (1732-1799) said, “My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.” Robert Browning (1812-1889), an English poet and playwright said, “Motherhood: All love begins and ends there.”
All humans irrespective of caste, creed, religion and culture love and respect their mothers. Mother is the architect. Nothing can be compared to and cited against her. Mother is the sweetest and safest abode for every child. A mother never expects any return for her sacrifices. It is a fact.
Mother is a human being who has soft and motherly attitude towards all including her womb-bearing child. She has sensation of motherly feelings towards all. This is a heavenly trait of a mother. Mothers groom a family, a society, a country, and above all a nation by nurturing a child with care and affection, which is not exchangeable by any means.
Words coming out from the mouth of a mother are the sweetest to her children. Mother takes care of her children indeed. Mothers also extend their hands towards other children. Guests and even distant relatives are taken care of by a mother when they come to her house for familial matters. The touch of mother’s affection never ends. We may recall the motherly affection and love of our Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who embraced the Rohingya infants, whose parents were brutally killed during atrocities in Myanmar and took refuge in Cox’s Bazar camps of Bangladesh, with motherly affection.
Mother’s affection never fades away from people’s heart. Mothers not only love and adore their children from the core of their heart; they have universal affection for all human beings. They never think of getting something in exchange for taking care of their children. We all must bear the sacred responsibility of taking care of our mothers fairly. We must pay respect and love to our mothers.
As mothers take care of all of us, we must also take care of them with great devotion, love and respect. We have to pay them back on mothers did while we were infants. We have to take care and love them all through our life and especially during the old age of our mother. We can never forget that we exist only because of our mother.
