CCC, CDA implemented Tk 7,616 cr projects to reduce waterlogging

Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation A J M Nasir Uddin has stressed the need for combating and coordination to implement the mega project of the government.
AJM Nasir Uddin met the newly appointed Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) Chairman M Zahirul Alam, at conference room of CDA on Thursday .City mayor stressed the importance of the the development projects including water logging project.

It was informed in the meeting that there were dualities in various parts of the city like Maryam Bibi Canal, Mahisakhal, Launching Bunder Bridge, Samadhi Para Present Pool. To overcome this, Chief Engineer of City Corporation and Chief Engineer of CDA have been given the responsibility to make logical proposals within a week.

There is no shortage of Prime Minister’s sincerity in resolving the development and water logging of Chittagong. In its continuation, the government has allocated Taka 10 thousand 492 crore for four projects in the year 2017 to reduce water logging of Chittagong. Two projects worth Tk 7,616 crore were implemented by the CDA and Water Development Board (WAPDA) has been responsible for implementing a project worth Tk. 620 crore.
The mayor said, to solve the water logging problem, all the services, including the CDA, City Corporation, Chittagong WASA, Water Development Board, will be taken concurrently. The project has already expired one and a half years and the project expires on June 2020. In this period, it is impossible for them to implement the whole project and there is no scope to waste time.
He said the coordination will make all the development of this city. Both chic and CDA are government institutions. Those who are in charge of this organization, they are just doing their duties. The government is implementing the project. We have to keep an eye on the project that can be sustainable, bring relief and benefits to the city dweller.
