Saleh Ahmed passes away
Noted actor Saleh Ahmed passed away on Wednesday afternoon. He was 83. He breathed his last at 2:33pm while undergoing treatment in the capital’s Apollo Hospitals.
Saleh Ahmed enthralled audiences with his performances in several plays of Humayun Ahmed and films in the 1990s.
His maternal cousin and also an actor, Ahsanul Haque Minu, told this correspondent, “The veteran actor was suffering from old age complications.” Born in Sariakandi of Bogura, he started his acting career in 1991 through a drama of eminent film director Humayun Ahmed. Ahsan Habib Nasim, General Secretary of Television Actors’ Association, informed that the veteran actor was suffering from various old-age issues. He lost the ability to walk after a stroke nearly six years ago. He was admitted to the Apollo Hospital after his health took a turn for the worse.
It is noted that earlier in January of this year, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave Tk 25 lakh donation for the treatment of the ailing actor.
