1,200 litres adulterated ghee seized

A mobile court here on Tuesday seized 1,200 litres of adulterated ghee and its associated ingredients such as red fertilizer, dalda, pump oil, and colour from Egaro Mile area in Hathazari upazila. Talking to UNB, Ruhul Amin, upazila executive officer, said a section of dishonest traders have been producing adulterated ghee at a local chairman Kabir’s house for long time. Being tipped-off, a team conducted the drive in the house and seized the adulterated ghee and its producing materials.
The fraudulent trader group was involved in supplying fakes of 10 popular ghee brands.
The manager of the factory managed to flee the scene.
Later , the seized ghee was destroyed in front of public. This adulterated ghee is detrimental for human health.
Earlier on Monday night, another team seized 1,500 litres of adulterated ghee from the same area, the officer added.
