Guptill might miss the fifth ODI against India
The right-handed batsman, Martin Guptill might miss the fifth and final ODI against India which is scheduled to be played in Wellington on 3rd February. He sustained a back injury during the practice session ahead of the last game of the five-match ODI series. Guptill, who could not control the pain, was taken off the ground by the support staff.
As he requires the rest to recover from the injury, the chances of Guptill featuring in the final ODI is too slim. Colin Munro, who was released by New Zealand to represent Auckland Aces in the Super Smash game, will rejoin the squad on the match day.
New Zealand revealed this news through their official twitter handle. They wrote,”Martin Guptill is in doubt for tomorrow’s fifth ODI against India after aggravating his lower back while fielding this afternoon. He’s been assessed by team physio Vijay Vallabh & will be reassessed tomorrow morning. Colin Munro will rejoin the ODI squad tomorrow morning #NZvIND.”
