Shakib appeals to BCB
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has submitted a letter to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to withdraw his punishment. Hasan went to the BCB office on Sunday.
Shakib Al Hasan has been banned for six months from all kinds of cricket competitions. The former captain of Bangladesh National Cricket team has been suspended for one and half years from the international cricket tournaments like IPL, CPL, County Cricket tournament etc. Shakib will not get No Objection Certificate (NOC) from BCB to take part in the foreign cricket meet for upcoming one and half years.
Shakib Al Hasan went to London to take part in the Caribbean Cricket League (CPL) without NOC of BCB. Then BCB ordered him to return Dhaka immediately. Shakib Al Hasan sent an e-mail to coach Chandika Haturusinghe and acknowledged him that he will retire from Test and ODI cricket.
After getting the order of BCB Shakib Al Hasan returned Dhaka.
Then the Board Meeting of BCB Directors took decision on July 7 about the punishment of Shakib Al Hasan.
Later, BCB boss Nazmul Hassan Papon hinted that the punishment of Shakib Al Hasan may be reduced if Shakib becomes repented.
Then Shakib went to BCB office on Sunday and applied to withdraw his punishment.
Shakib Al Hasan said to the journalists, “I became matured by working with BCB and the members of Bangladesh National Cricket team. Cricket of Bangladesh is my passion. I have applied to BCB to withdraw my punishment.”
Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BCB Nizam Uddin Chowdhury Sujan admitted that he received a letter from Shakib Al Hasan.
Sujan said, “In the next Board Meeting of BCB Directors would take the decision about the fate of Shakib Al Hasan.”
