Conference begins at CU

A three daylong conference tittled “First International Conference on Media, Communication and Journalism: Prospects and Challenges in Bangladesh and Beyond” organised by the Department of Communication and Journalism, University of Chittagong, has begun yesterday at A K Khan Law faculty.
On the opening day, CU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdury inaugurated the conference while M A Malek, editor of the local Daily Azadi was present as a special guest.
The three-day conference has been divided into 20 sessions. Of these, there are three planary and 15 parallel sessions. Researchers and experts will present their articles on challenging the possibility of media, communication and journalism in Bangladesh and abroad .
The chairman of the Communications and Journalism Department Abul Kalam Azad however presided over the conference while Professor Mahammad Sahid Ullah addressed as welcome speaker.
