Severe deadlock created at USTC

The academic classes and medicare facilities of the pioneer private university in Chittagong- University of Science & Technology, Chittagong(USTC) has been remained closed for the last one and half months centring the movement of the teachers, doctors and officials since May 18 last.
The teachers-Officials Oikya Parishad launched movement demanding the formulation of service rules of the teachers, doctors and the employees and appointment of VC, Pro-VC and Treasurer.
The Oikya Parishad demanded formation of legal Trusty Board and Syndicate of the medical college based private university.
Huge numbers of foreign students of the university including total of five thousand students are in utter uncertainty and the build up reputation of the institution is being damaged day by day.
During their movement, all academic classes, and service in the medical hospital and college remain suspended and the hospital now stand at patient less.
As a part of the movement, a protest rally was held at Bhasani Auditorium of USTC with Prof. Dr.AHM Ishaque Chowdhury in the chair yesterday morning.
 Among others Director of Bangabandhu Medical Hospital, an unit of USTC Brig(Retd) Dr. Showkat ali, Dean of Medicine Faculty Dr. Mokades Akhter Begum, Syndicate member Dr. Badiul Alam , Head of Forensic Medicine Prof. Mahmudul Hoque Chowdhury, Dr. ABM Ali, Dr. Kamaluddin, Anowarul Islam Bappi spoke on the occasion.
The speakers in the rally blamed the President of Janaseba Foundation Ahmed Iftekarul Islam and the Member Secretary Dr. Nina Islam chowdhury for this crisis in the USTC.
The President and the Member secretary of the Controlling authority of the University- Janaseba Foundation yet not taken any effective measures to resolve the prevailing crisis.
The speakers in the rally also told that the founder of the university and National Profession Dr. Nurul Islam earned reputation from abroad for establishing the pioneer private medical college, university in Chittagong but his successors consider the institution as their family properties.
Following the autocracy of the Janaseba foundation, the internationally reputed medical university is going to be destroyed, the conscious circles observed.
