Shuvagata secures Shinepukur’s third win in Premier Cricket
An all-round performance came from skipper Shuvagata Hom saw Shinepukur Cricket Club to register third victory in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League beating Kalabagan Krira Chakra by six wickets in the fifth round match held on Saturday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur.
Chasing a winning target of 233 runs set by Kalabagan, Shinepukur comfortably reached home in 42.3 overs with six wickets in hand.
Afif Hossain top scored with an unbeaten knock of 67 and during the process he also involved 84-run fourth wicket stand with Touhidul Alam Hridoy who contributed 63 runs. Afif later finished the chase along with Shuvagata Home who also remained unbeaten with 30 runs.
Abul Hasan, Shahadat Hossain, Sanjit Saha and Mahmudul Hasan all shared one wicket each for Kalabagan.
Earlier, opted to bat first after winning the toss, Kalabagan suffered early batting jolt as they slipped 4 for 65 in 21.5 overs in the scoreboard.
Then Akbar- Ur-Rahman (71), the top scorer of Kalabagan’s innings, pairing with Mahmudul Hasan (52) shared an useful 64-run for the fifth wicket stand to take the team to a comfortable position.
Later Abul Hasan’s late blaze took the team’s total over two hundred runs land mark. Abul blasted unbeaten 27-ball off 47-run, an innings, that studded with six boundaries and one over boundary.
Shuvagata Hom was the pick of Shinepukur bowler as he grabbed three wickets conceding 34 runs. He was well supported by Sujon Hawlader who bagged two wickets giving away 35 runs.
Shuvagata Hom of Shinepukur was named the player of the match for his all-round show.
