Junior Athletics meet begins Sunday

The 33rd National Junior Athletics competition begins on Sunday at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS).
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu will inaugurate the two-day meet as the chief guest at 9 am.
Near about 600 athletes from all 64 districts, eight divisions, education boards, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothistan and others institutions from across the country will take part in the meet, organized by Bangladesh Athletics Federation (BAF).
The competition includes 33 events, which include 14 of boys’ section (U-14) events and 19 of juvenile section events.
The budget of Taka 8,25,000 has been estimated for the competition. The budget will be met from federation’s own fund.
In this regard, a press conference was held on Friday at conference room of BNS to provide all the details of the meet.
BAF president ASM Ali Kabir, BAF vice president Farukul Islam and Shah Alam, BAF general secretary were present, among others on the occasion.
