DIS observes Int’l Peace Day 2017

Students of Daffodil International School (DIS) have observed International Peace Day – 2017 on Thursday with an elaborate program. To mark the Day they made a human chain in front of Daffodil Tower with placard, banner and festoon at Sobhanbag, Dhanmondi in the capital.
Dr Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan, Advisor, DIS, Shahana Khan, Principal, DIS and other faculty members were present at the program conducted by Cherry Gomes, teacher of DIS. Rahima K Mirza Rosemary, Senior Vice Principal has read out a message from Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO.
The students presented many segments like solo speech, acting and presenting video documentary on projector at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil Tower.
Dr Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan said that children are our future leader. We have to encourage them to raise their voice in favor of peace if we want to build a peaceful world.
Students of DIS are not only bound in academic study, they are also involved positively in many social issues, said Dr Hasan. He gave example saying that students donated a bulk amount of fund for flood affected people in Dinajpur.
However, student of grade-2 to grade-7 of DIS presented video documentaries titled ‘Peace for Family and Friends’, ‘Sundarbans’, ‘Rohinga’, ‘Syria’, ‘Kasmir’ and ‘World War’.
