Schoolteacher slaughtered in Bandarban; Husband held

A school teacher was slaughtered allegedly by her husband in Rangunia upazila early Monday.
Deceased Rumi Barua, 42, was an assistant teacher of Collectorate School and College run by the district administration. She was the wife of lance corporal Rintu Barua at Ramu zone of Bangladesh Army.
The victim’s brother Razu Barua alleged that Rumi used to be tortured by her in-laws and she was killed by her husband.
Razu said, “Rumi was slaughtered at anytime of early Monday. Hearing the news, we rushed to the her house around 10am and found the Rumi’s body in a pool of blood.”
The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Rangunia Thana OC Imtiaz Bhuyan said, they detained Rintu in connection with the incident.
