




MoU to ink between BRUR, Uzbekistan universities
Initiatives have been taken in favour of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with top ranked universities of Uzbekistan. Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Masood Mannan said this while talking as a key negotiator in a colloquium of the Department of Economics, BRUR on Thursday. Vice-chancellor of BRUR, Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO inaugurated the colloquium chaired by Head of the Department Prof Dr Md. Morshed Hossain.
Dr Kalimullah also inaugurated two other colloquiums held in the departments of Political Science and English of BRUR on the same day. Prof Kalimullah attended an accreditation workshop on ‘Accurate Pronunciation In Broadcast Journalism’ organized by the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, BRUR.
Ambassador Masum Mannan as chief speaker spoke on the topic of ‘Bangladesh-Uzbekistan relations: New horizons of economic possibilities’. He hoped, ‘Begum Rokeya University will soon take initiative to negotiate with the top-ranked universities of Uzbekistan. ‘If you can make agreements with Uzbek Universities, teachers and students of both the countries will be able to exchange knowledge about their academic subjects’ the Ambassador added.
Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, BTFO said, ‘we don’t want to see any negative news about Begum Rokeya University. From now on, we want to work for positive news.’
The colloquium of English Department was held under the title of ‘Literature and Language’. Former Professor of Dhaka University, Nuzhat Amin Mannan was present as chief discussant of the colloquium. Asif Al Matin, Head of the Department of English presided over the event.
Barrister Morshed Mannan was present at the colloquium of Political Science Department as chief negotiator while Saidur Rahman, Head of the Department presided over it.
Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, BRUR organized workshop on broadcast journalism and accentuation. Vice Chancellor Prof Kalimullah inaugurated the program while former professor of Carmichael College, Mohammad Shah Alam was present as conductor of the workshop. Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Head of Department of Mass Communication and Journalism chaired the inaugural program of the workshop. Founder Head of the Department Prof Dr Morshed Hossain was present as special guest on the occasion.
