Australia to take part at preparation camp in Darwin
Australia will take part at a preparation camp in Darwin ahead of the two Test matches against Bangladesh. The seven-day long conditioning camp will start on August 10. Australia will play a three-dayer at the Marara Cricket Ground from August 14 to August 16.
Meanwhile, Cricket Australia announced a 13-member Test squad for Bangladesh tour. Australia Cricket team will arrive in Dhaka on August 18.
Team Performance Manager of Australia Pat Howard said, ” There is a similarity of the condition of Bangladesh and Darwin. So, we have chosen Darwin for preparation camp before taking part in the two Test matches against Bangladesh. Hoping that we shall leave from Darwin for Bangladesh.”
Australia will play a two-day warm-up match against a selected XI of Bangladesh at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah from August 22 to August 23.
Bangladesh will play against Australia in the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur from August 27 to August 31.
The second Test match between Bangladesh and Australia will be held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, the port city of the country from September 4 to September 8.
The 13-member Australia Test squad: Steven Smith (Captain), David Warner (Vice-Captain), Ashton Agar, Hilton Cartwright, Pat Cummins, Peter Handscomb, Josh Hazlewood, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Glenn Maxwell, James Pattinn, Mathew Renshaw and Mathew Wade.
