Police recovered the hanging body of a housewife, abandoned by her husband, from an isolated house of Napitkhali village under Pekua upazila in the district on Monday noon three days after she went missing.
The deceased was identified as Nurunnahar Begum, 25, daughter of Zafar Alam, resident at the village.
Local sources said Nurunnahar went missing on April 22 . Her hanging body was recovered from her uncle Moulvi Abu Sayed’s empty house-where no one lives as her uncle with his family lives in Chittagong town-at the village at the noon. She might have committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of the house.
