Axiom Cricketers crush Matuail CA by 200 runs

Axiom Cricketers earned a massive 200 runs victory against Matuail Cricket Academy in a Group A Super League match of the Dhaka Metropolis 2nd Division Cricket League at Fatullah Outer Stadium on Sunday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Axiom Cricketers were all out for 234 runs in stipulated 50 overs with Pritom Kumar making 77, Wahidul Islam 55 and Sajid Hasan 41 runs.
Shahadat Saiful Malek claimed five wickets for 38 runs while Al Islam took three for 39 runs.
In reply, Matuail Cricket Academy were bundled out cheaply for just 34 runs in seven overs against devastating bowling by Rubel Hossain, who grabbed nine wickets for 18 runs in his four-over spell.
In the day’s another match at Jahangir Nagor University ground, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club managed an exciting one-wicket win over Lalmatia Club.
Sent into batting first, Lalmatia Club piled up a moderate 277 runs for all in 49.5 overs with Shakil Hossain scoring 69, Shohag and Rakibul making 54 runs each.
Yeasin Bhuiyan and Al Amin claimed three wickets each conceding 40 and 51 runs respectively.
In reply, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club reached their target scoring the match-winner 278 runs for the loss of nine wicket in 49.4 overs with Yeasin Bhuiyan contributing 94 runs, Sandip Kumar and Moinul Islam scoring 34 runs each.
Rakibul Hasan and Menaj Mahbub captured three wickets each giving away 47 and 63 runs respectively.
In the day’s other match at Mirpur City Club ground, Dhaka Wanderers Club beat Green Leaf Cricket Academy by two runs.
Winning the toss, Dhaka Wanderers Club batted first and scored 264 runs for all in 49.5 overs with Omar Faruk scoring 53 and Imdad Hossain Naim 44 runs.
Asif Murad and Tonmoy Patwari picked up three wickets each for 50 and 54 runs respectively.
In reply, Green Leaf Cricket Academy folded their innings at 262 runs for 9 in 50 overs with Inzamamul Haque scoring 63, Tonmoy Patwari not out 46 and Asif Murad 33 runs.
