Severe disrepair makes the structure dangerous for pedestrians A broken pedestrian overbridge near a bus stand in Dhaka has become risky for pedestrians due to prolonged disrepair.
Several parts of the structure are damaged, making it difficult and unsafe to use, particularly for elderly people, children and persons with disabilities.
Street vendors also operate on parts of the bridge, reducing the available walking space. However, pedestrians said the main concern is its dangerous condition.
Many people now avoid the overbridge and cross the busy road below, further increasing the risk of accidents.
Local residents have urged the authorities to repair the bridge immediately and ensure regular maintenance.
