The Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha [Rajuk] conducted an eviction drive at West Shewrapara in the city’s Mirpur on Wednesday.
Officials said that the drive was launched apparently to evict illegal establishments, including bar, hotels, restaurants and other commercial houses, on different plots and flats adjacent to Pirerbag 60-feet road.
The mobile court, led by Rajuk executive magistrate Khandaker Oliur Rahman, at that time demolished unauthorized ramps on the footpaths and all illegal establishments in 18 buildings in the area [zone-3].
Especially, the 35 illegal shops and other establishments built in the garages of residential buildings were demolished by the Rajuk team.
Besides, the boundary walls and stairs constructed in front of the buildings illegally occupying roads were also demolished.
The Councillor of Ward -14 Humayun Rashid Johny extended his full cooperation during the eviction.
The Rajuk conducted drive there last week [January 11] also.
