71 held, 3,300 yaba tablets, drugs seized

Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) in separate drives arrested 71 people from different areas in the city during the last 24 hours.
They also seized 3,300 pieces of yaba tablets, 100-liter liquor, 200-bottle phensidyle and 41-kilogram hemp during the drives, police said.
Eight cases were filed with concerned police stations.
Besides, CMP and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) filed 596 cases against different types of vehicles including 134 cases against CNG-run auto rickshaws for not obeying the metropolitan rules in the city during the last 24-hour.
They also seized 47 vehicles including 35 CNG-run auto rickshaws during the drives, the release added.
