Bangladesh to play Bahrain in 1st semifinal today

Hosts Bangladesh National team will face Bahrain in the first semifinal of the 4th Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Monday with a hope to reach the final.
The semifinal will kick off at 5:30 pm.
If the final match is not decided in the scheduled 90 minutes, the match will lead to extra time and then to tie breaker.
Addressing a pre-match press conference at the BFF House on Sunday, Bangladesh Coach Maruful Haque said, “We have a respect for Bahrain team, they are capable of winning the match, but we don’t think anything except win.”
“Before the tournament, we had said we would play in the semifinal. We made it and now we are saying we will play the final. I do hope our boys will also be able to do this giving their cent percent,” he further said.
Replying to a query, the Bangladesh coach hinted a change in the team’s previous line-up and said, “We want to win the match in the stipulated 90-minute.”
Bangladesh captain Mamunul Islam Mamun said, “We seriously needed a victory in the first match to overcome our failure in the SAF Championship. We had been able to make it and now our target is to reach the final and we are mentally prepared for this.”
The 2nd semifinal between the Maldives and Nepal will be held on Tuesday at the same venue.
