This is the first time that a woman agricultural scientist has joined the post of Director General of the Bangladesh Sugar Crop Research Institute in Ishwardi. The newly appointed Director General Dr. Ferdowsi Islam joined BSRI’s head office in Ishwardi on Sunday (July 14) afternoon and assumed responsibility.
Dr. Ferdowsi Islam was serving as Director (Services and Supplies) of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (Bari) at Gazipur. He recently retired director general. He succeeded Omar Ali.
Before this, on July 10th, the order of Research-3 Department of the Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Ferdowsi Islam was posted as Director General of Bangladesh Sugarcrop Research Institute. Deputy Secretary of the Ministry, This information was revealed in the office order signed by M. Moniruzzaman.
