Sirajganj-2, 6 constituencies Uncle, nephew duo contest for parliamentary posts from same party

Uncle Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and his nephew MA Muhit are contesting in the sirajganj 2, and sirajganj 6 constituencies of Sirajganj in the upcoming 13th National Assembly elections.

Uncles and nephews are nominated from BNP and are in the election field with the symbol Sheaf of Paddy.
On the other hand, BNP National Standing Committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku is contesting in Sirajganj-2 Sadar,and Kamarkhand, constituencies and District BNP chief adviser MA Muhit is contesting in Sirajganj-6 Shahzadpur, constituencies.

Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku is a resident of Koilgati village in Sirajganj Sadar Upazila.
His father was a Muslim League leader and Minister of Industry of the Government of Pakistan. MA Muhit is a resident of Shahjadpur Upazila.

He is the elder sister of Dr. Tasnima Matin and the former deputy prime minister, professor, distinguished ophthalmologist Dr. MA Matin’s elder son. Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku was elected Member of Parliament from Sirajganj-2 Constituency in 1986, 1988 and 2001.

When the 4-party coalition government came to power in 2001, he served as State Minister for Power and then as State Minister for Agriculture.

He is the President of Sirajganj District BNP unit. Member of the Central Executive Committee of BNP.
Former Prime Minister late Khaleda Zia served as advisor to BNP Chairperson and Central Vice Chairman. In the last conference, he was nominated as a member of the party’s standing committee and served as a member.
On the other hand, Dr. MA Muhith Shahjadpur Upazila BNP is serving as President.

Currently, the district BNP chief advisor, besides Dr. MA Muhith participated in the 2018 national election and was defeated for the first time, BNP leaders and activists claim that both uncle and nephew will win, the 13th national election, Sirajganj District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu told New Nation reporter Selim Reza that Sirajganj is already BNP’s base.

Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku and his nephew MA Muhith will win, the highest votes from their respective constituencies. He expects BNP candidates to win in other constituencies as well.
