Bangladesh’s politics has become pro-election shunning the most probably conflicts after announcing BNP’s 237 candidates name on Monday as the other parties tried to follow and honor the election roadmap, experts said.

After BNP’s nomination declarations, Jamaat-e-Islami and National Citizen Party (NCP) showed positive gestures towards upcoming election and also honor to each others in the political arena.

Besides, BNP’s internal conflicts nearly zero as it was feared huge infighting over nomination feud across the country.

Experts were worried that Jamaat-e-Islami and other parties including the NCP will obstacle the February election by huge agitation demanding proportional election system and legalise the July Charter. But it was not shown so.

Experts described these as a very positive political atmosphere. When contacted, eminent political analyst Professor Dr. SM Ali Reza, of Dhaka University on Tuesday told The New Nation, ” After BNP’s declaration of 237 constituencies candidacy, a very cool political atmosphere found in the country.”

The Professor said it was deeply desired by the people of the country.
Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman on Tuesday said his party wants February polls with all parties.

Meanwhile, BNP Mirza Fakhrul urges nomination deprives aspirants that the party will honor them with giving responsibilities in future.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, said his party wants the next election to be participated by not only his party but also every political party.

“We may have differences of opinion, but please pray that there are no divisions among us. Differences in views will remain – that is the beauty of democracy.

We are not ready to believe that just because of differences in opinion, there has been conflict or the country has become unstable,” Dr. Shafique said.

Jamaat Ameer said, “We, you, and all the people of the country – everyone wants to see the election in February, Insha’Allah. Not just us, but everyone together.”

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman returned home early Tuesday after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia and visiting the United States, the United Kingdom, and Turkey.

Meanwhile, as a positive gesture and honor NCP said it will refrain from contesting in Khaleda Zia’s constituencies: Nasiruddin Patwary
The NCP has decided not to field candidates in any constituencies where Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will be contesting in the upcoming 13th national election, said the party’s chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary on Tuesday.

“Following the July Uprising, it is encouraging to see Khaleda Zia taking part in the elections. We warmly welcome her decision and will refrain from nominating candidates in the constituencies where she is running,” Patwary told Ekattor TV.

The BNP on Monday announced a preliminary list of candidates for 237 constituencies ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election.

As per the list, Khaleda Zia is set to run from Feni-1, Dinajpur-3, and Bogura-7.

The NCP’s decision came a day after the BNP unveiled its candidate list, despite the party’s earlier announcement of plans to contest all 300 constituencies.

Besides, the NCP has declared its intention to contest all 300 constituencies in the forthcoming 13th national parliamentary election.

In a video message to the media on 4 November, the party’s Convener Nahid Islam stated, “After persistent efforts, we are now officially a registered political party. We will compete in all 300 seats under the Shapla Koli symbol.”

He added that the party’s final list of candidates will be announced within this month.

Nahid explained, “The party began its registration process in March, submitted all necessary documents by June, and obtained official recognition following field verification by the Election Commission.”

Highlighting the public’s response, he said, “The party received remarkable support during our July march programmes and has now established an organisational network throughout the country.”

Calling for new leadership, Nahid encouraged young and emerging political activists to join, saying, “Those who wish to enter politics with a fresh perspective and provide honest, patriotic leadership should connect with us.”

He expressed confidence that the party’s growing public backing will be evident in the upcoming election.
