SHIBGANJ, CHAPAINABABGANJ: BGB members arrest a man named Monirul Islam with a large quantity of gunpowder, firearms, bullets and magazines Saturday morning. Lt. Col Nahid Hossain, the battalion commander of 53 BGB Headquarters at a press briefing at its office says the focus is on the prevention of unwanted incidents ahead of the 12th National Elections BGB to strengthen strict vigilance to stop the smuggling of firearms along the border.

CHANDPUR:Major Rtd Rafiqul Islam ( Bir Uttam), MP from Chandpur-5 Hajiganj-Shahrasti Constituency hands over 180 new bi -cycles to 180 poor boys and girls of 17 high schools and madrasas in Hajiganj Upazila for attending classes in time at a function held at Hajiganj Upazila Parishad Auditorium recently. Considering the distance of their homes, Major Rtd Rafiqul Islam himself took this initiative. UNO Rashedul Islam, local elites, school , madrasa teachers and students’ guardians were present on the occasion.
