Walton Amateur Rating Chess begins on August 11

The Walton Amateur Rating Chess Championship begins on August 11 at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room. Golden Sporting Club will arrange the chess meet with co-operation of Bangladesh Chess Federation under auspices of Walton.
Regarding the upcoming chess meet, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
General Secretary of Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) Gazi Shayiful Tarique, First Senior Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Chairman of the Tournament Committee Md Mehedi Hasan, President of Golden Sporting Club Amir Ali Rana, Vice-President of BCF Mokaddes Hossain, Joint-Secretary of the Federation Morsalin Ahmed were present at the conference.
The chess players whose rating points are below 2ooo can take part in the chess tournament. International Master (IM) , Grand Master (GM) and FIDE Master (FM) cannot participate in the chess meet.
A total of 160 chess players will compete in the chess championship. The budget of the tournament has been estimated at Tk 1,65,000. The champions will be awarded a cash of Tk 15,000 and a trophy.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP will inaugurate the chess tournament on August 11 as the chief guest while First Senior Additional Director of Walton FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn will be with him as the special guest.
The concluding ceremony and the prize-giving ceremony will be held on August 17.
