Aman bumper yield potential in Rangpur region
Despite the comparatively low and irregular rainfall during the current season, the government’s agricultural incentives have shown the potential for bumper yield of Aman paddy planted in 5 districts of the Rangpur agricultural region.
Farmers and officials of the agriculture department are very happy about this. The perching method is being used to control insects.
According to the Additional Director’s Office of the Department of Agricultural Extension, incentives were distributed among 1,07,000 farmers in the current season of Aman paddy planted in 5 districts of the Rangpur agricultural region.
Each farmer was given 20 kg of fertiliser and 5 kg of paddy seeds. This year, 314,221 metric tons of hybrids will be produced in 5 districts. 167,000 metric tons of Ufshi, 20,737 metric tons of local varieties, a total of 200,50028 metric tons.
Last year, 2002496 metric tons of planted Aman rice were produced in 5 districts. The Agriculture Department also expects 2532 metric tons of Boro Aman rice to be produced compared to last year.

According to the information of the Agriculture Department, this time planted Aman rice was cultivated on one lakh 66 thousand 960 hectares of land in Rangpur district.
As the weather is somewhat favorable, the rice yield in different areas of the district has also been quite good.
Those concerned hope that if the weather remains favorable until the last moment, there will be a surplus of more than three and a half lakh metric tons of rice in the district this time, meeting the food demand.
It will be possible to meet the needs of other districts with this rice.
