Why didn’t I seek help from a godfather: Sara Ali
It has long been a complaint that it is relatively easy for star children to make their debut in Bollywood. However, actress Sara Ali Khan is reluctant to accept that success is guaranteed by being known in
the film world.
She claims that her father Saif Ali Khan never approached anyone to seek work for her. She also did not take the help of any ‘godfather’ to get work in Bollywood.
Although Sara admits that being a child of a celebrity family gives her some advantages, she feels that the expectations and pressure surrounding that identity are also not less.
Recently, while taking a stand on the nepotism controversy, the actress raised the question, if they don’t have the opportunity to choose their birth family, why should they be judged just because they are
a celebrity child?
According to Sara, neither she, Janhvi Kapoor nor Ananya Pandey got the opportunity to choose their birth family.
Therefore, it is not right to evaluate them solely on the basis of being a child of a star family.
She feels that just as family connections can bring job opportunities, they also create pressure to prove themselves due to that connection.
Sara also spoke about her career. She was raised by her mother after her father Saif Ali Khan and mother Amrita Singh separated. The actress claims that her father never asked producers for work on her behalf.
She also did not get the help of any influential person to get her work in Bollywood.
Sara made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Kedarnath’ in 2018.
The actress said that she had to handle the various complications surrounding the production and release of the film.
Sara Ali’s statement has revived the old debate about the opportunities for star children in Bollywood.
While fame may give them an advantage at the beginning of their careers, it is important to prove their worth in the end to survive in the acting world, the message she has given is that.
