M’singh HSC pass rate stands at 51.44pc; girls lead

The pass rate in the 2026 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under the Mymensingh Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education stood at 51.44 per cent, with female students outperforming their male counterparts in both the overall pass rate and GPA-5 achievements.

Board Secretary Professor Md Enamul Haque disclosed the results at a press briefing on Saturday.

Examination Controller Md Shahadat Ullah, Deputy Controller of Examinations Dr AKM Kamal Hossain, College Inspector SM Ariful Rahman and other board officials were present.

According to board data, a total of 70,673 students appeared in the examinations, of whom 36,354 passed. Among the successful candidates, 15,647 were male and 20,707 were female. A total of 2,137 students secured GPA-5, including 1,018 male and 1,119 female students.

Institution-wise results showed that all candidates from five educational institutions passed the examinations, while no student from 19 institutions managed to pass.

The board said students’ poor performance in mathematics and English was a major factor behind the unsuccessful results at those institutions.

This year, students from 315 educational institutions appeared at 113 examination centres under the board. Among the three academic groups, science students achieved the highest pass rate at 75.56 per cent.
