KCC chief stresses holistic children’s dev

Nazrul Islam Manju, Administrator of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) has stressed the importance of combining formal education with cultural and sporting activities to ensure the proper intellectual, mental and moral development of children.

He made the remarks as the chief guest at a programme held at the Khulna District Shilpakala Academy on Friday marking the 52nd anniversary of the Khulna City Unit of Phulkuri Asar, a national organisation dedicated to children and adolescents.

“Children are the future leaders of the nation. Families and society must work together to raise them as capable, principled and responsible citizens,” he said.

Emphasising the need for a balanced approach to children’s development, Manju said that, alongside academic education, children should be encouraged to participate in cultural activities and sports.

Parents must remain attentive to their children’s mental well-being and ensure that family or social circumstances do not negatively affect their psychological development.
