Education Minister highlights AI and third-language learning

Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Ajit Singh has expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation in education and human resource development during a meeting with Education and Primary and Mass Education Minister Dr ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon.

Singh, leading a delegation, paid a courtesy call on the minister at the Education Ministry office in the Secretariat on Thursday.

During the meeting, both sides held detailed discussions on issues of mutual interest, including the development of Bangladesh’s education sector, skilled workforce development and the expansion of technical and vocational education.

The education minister highlighted the importance of cross-border education, third-language learning and artificial intelligence (AI). He also presented Bangladesh’s plans in these areas to the Canadian delegation.

The Canadian high commissioner expressed the Canadian government’s interest in strengthening and expanding existing areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The areas identified included cross-border education, third-language education, technical and vocational training, and broader human resource development.

Trade Commissioner of the Canadian High Commission Quazi Gulam Farhad, among others, attended the meeting.
