Ziaur, FCA new Chair of SBAC Bank

Accountant Ziaur Rahman Zia, FCA, has recently been elected Chairman of the Board Audit Committee of SBAC Bank PLC. He is serving as an Independent Director of the Bank.

Zia is a Chartered Accountant with over 21 years of professional experience in audit, finance, and corporate governance.

He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and an elected Council Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB).

He holds a Master’s degree in Accounting and is also an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Ziaur Rahman Zia holds a master’s degree in Accounting. He served as a Partner at A. Qasem & Co., one of the leading chartered accountancy firms in Bangladesh. Since starting his career in 2005, he has gained experience in audit, assurance, advisory, and compliance across various sectors. He has also received specialized training in conducting bank audits. He has expertise in auditing, fraud detection, financial investigation and risk management.

As a technology entrepreneur and business leader, Ziaur Rahman Zia is the Chairman of RS Technologies Limited. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Progoti Systems Limited.

At the regional level, he represents Bangladesh on the Public Sector Accounting Committee of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). Earlier, in 2020, he served as the Chairman of the Dhaka Regional Committee of ICAB. He is also involved in social welfare activities through Drishti Unnayan Sangstha (DUS), Dhaka.
