BCIC Chairman visits Chattogram

Newly appointed Chairman of the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) and Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh, Md Babul Mia, visited several BCIC-controlled industrial facilities on October 9-10, 2026.

During the visit, he inspected TSP Complex Limited (TSPCL), Chittagong Urea Fertilizer Limited, DAP Fertilizer Company Limited, Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Limited (KAFCO) and Karnaphuli Paper Mills Limited in Rangamati district, said a press release.

During his visit to TSPCL, a three-member Chinese delegation led by Ms Rita Lu, chairperson of KANGDIEN (KD) Wuxi Technology Co Ltd, met with the BCIC chairman.

The delegation expressed interest in investing in Bangladesh’s fertilizer and other industries through soft loans. In particular, Rita Lu presented an initial proposal for setting up a urea fertilizer plant, a phosphoric acid plant and an NPKS fertilizer factory.

It was stated that the proposals would be examined and assessed before any further steps were taken.
During the inspections, the BCIC chairman observed the production, maintenance and sales activities of the factories firsthand. He also held discussions with the management authorities of the respective facilities.

He stressed the importance of ensuring the necessary supply of raw materials, proper maintenance and concerted efforts by management, workers, employees and officials to improve the factories and achieve production targets.

He urged all concerned to give the interests of the factories the highest priority and work with mutual cooperation, a sense of responsibility, dedication and professionalism.
