Adhora accuses director of unprofessional behaviour
Dhallywood actress Adhora Khan has pulled out of the film ‘Violence’, alleging the director’s unprofessional behaviour and lack of proper communication.
She claimed that she lost several important international work opportunities, including in Hollywood, while waiting for the film.
The actress has also faced financial and professional losses due to this.
Kamal Hossain Babor is producing the movie ‘Violence’. Adhora has accused him of unprofessional behaviour.
Adhora Khan, in a Facebook post on Sunday, gave details about her withdrawal from the film. She said that she had decided to withdraw from the film a long time ago.
However, she had remained silent on the matter for a long time as there was no official announcement from the concerned parties.
Adhora wrote, “Many of you have asked why I have withdrawn from the movie ‘Violence’! I withdrew myself from the movie a long time ago due to the director’s unprofessional behaviour and lack of proper communication.
Although the matter was informed to the concerned parties, but since there has been no official announcement from them, I am clarifying my position to answer the questions of my fans, well-wishers and respected journalists.”
She also said, “I have been silent for so long because I did not want my statement to have any negative impact on the ongoing shooting of the film or the work of co-stars and crew associated with it.
However, this experience has caused me to face major financial and professional losses.
While waiting for ‘Violence’, I could not take up several important international work opportunities, including Hollywood.
Due to contractual confidentiality obligations, I can’t disclose the details of those projects.
At the same time, I have also received warnings from my casting director and agency here for not being able to maintain other work schedules and professional commitments for this film.
It was also very disappointing for me that they tried to contact me just a day before my shooting for this film. I got involved with ‘Violence’ out of my genuine love for Bengali cinema.”
Referring to the incident as a lesson for her, the actress further wrote, “This experience will be a big lesson for me.
I also see joining this project without further considering the issues of proper professionalism, communication and mutual respect as a big ‘mistake’ of my career.
My intention in writing this is not to belittle anyone or harm any film; rather, to clarify my experience and position by answering questions from my fans, well-wishers and respected journalists.”
