Dr BK Ghosh appointed as BAEC member

Dr. B.K. Ghosh, former Director of the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences (INMAS) in Mymensingh, has been appointed Member (Planning) of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC).

The Ministry of Science and Technology made the appointment through an office order on Sunday.

Dr. Ghosh joined the BAEC as a medical officer in 1994 and has since served in the field of nuclear medicine for more than three decades.

He has played a leading role in the development of nuclear medicine in Bangladesh and has been working to advance therapeutic nuclear medicine.

He has also made significant contributions to the treatment of goiter in the northern region of the country. As part of his professional development, he received important training on physical protection related to the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant project.

During his career, Dr. Ghosh received advanced training in the United States, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, India, France, Germany and Russia.

He obtained his MBBS degree from Mymensingh Medical College in 1993, an M.Phil degree in medicine from BCPS, and an MD degree from the University of Dhaka.

Born in 1967 in Narail district to a prominent Hindu family, Dr. Ghosh is a father of two. His wife is a professor at a government medical college.
