PM calls for faster inner circular ring road work

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Sunday ordered authorities to speed up implementation of the Inner Circular Ring Road project to ease traffic congestion in Dhaka.

The prime minister gave the directive during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Cabinet Division of the Bangladesh Secretariat to review progress on the project.

He instructed the authorities to remove bottlenecks and accelerate construction work.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and the Local Government Division were asked to jointly review the existing project plan.

Tarique Rahman also stressed the need for better coordination among the agencies concerned to ensure smoother implementation of the project.

He called for setting a realistic deadline for completing the project.

The meeting also focused on ensuring visible progress in implementation within the shortest possible time.
