Jamaat chief calls for private import of dengue vaccines
Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr Shafiqur Rahman hands over liflet marking the inauguration of a nationwide dengue prevention public awareness week at Madhubagh in Moghbazar in the capital on Sunday.
Leader of the Opposition and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday urged the government to allow private companies to import dengue vaccines if it has no plan to bring them through government channels.
He made the call while inaugurating a weeklong nationwide dengue prevention awareness campaign organised by Jamaat at Madhubagh playground in Hatirjheel, Dhaka.
The campaign will continue until October 10, aiming to raise public awareness about dengue prevention and encourage people to take measures to curb the spread of the disease.
