Bashundhara SuperGolf opens in Dhaka
Sanvir Bashundhara Group (SBG) has officially launched Bashundhara SuperGolf in the capital, aiming to make golf more accessible and enjoyable while creating a new dimension in the country’s sports and entertainment landscape.
The new sports and entertainment hub was inaugurated on Thursday evening at its premises near Madani Avenue at a grand opening ceremony attended by prominent business leaders, senior corporate representatives, personalities from the sports and cultural sectors, distinguished guests and members of the media.
Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, chairman of Bashundhara Group; Shafiat Sobhan Sanvir, chairman of Sanvir Bashundhara Group; Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan, managing director of Tanvir Bashundhara Group; and Aemil Ahmed Sobhan, managing director of Sanvir Bashundhara Group and Bashundhara SuperGolf, attended the inauguration along with members of the extended Bashundhara family.
Designed around the concept “More than just golf,” Bashundhara SuperGolf features 107 golf bays equipped with modern digital tracking technology.
Spread across three modern levels, the facility combines golf with a range of lifestyle and entertainment offerings, including multiple restaurants, a premium café, a pro shop, a high-tech golf simulator and training rooms, billiards, VIP suites, meeting rooms, a social event hall, a kids’ zone and a sports lounge.
Speaking at the inauguration, Aemil Ahmed Sobhan, managing director of Bashundhara SuperGolf, said the primary objective was to create a modern space where people could enjoy much more than professional golf.
“Our main objective was to create a modern space where people can enjoy not only professional golf practice but also food, entertainment and social activities with their families, friends and corporate teams. From the very beginning, we envisioned it not simply as a conventional golf venue, but as an integrated lifestyle hub,” he said.
He said the project had been planned and developed over a period of more than a year, with a focus on providing visitors and guests with international-standard services and a distinctive experience.
Rezaur Rahman, head of operations at Bashundhara SuperGolf, and Ahmed Ibrahim Sobhan, managing director of Tanvir Bashundhara Group, also spoke at the event. They highlighted the facilities at the venue and its potential contribution to the country’s image and economic impact.
Following the inauguration, guests toured the different floors and modern facilities of Bashundhara SuperGolf and expressed appreciation for the range of amenities and opportunities available at the venue.
According to the company, the facility will offer annual membership as well as a Pay-and-Play option, allowing members of the public to access the golf facilities without becoming annual members.
The venue has been designed to bring together sports, dining, fine dining and social events under one roof. With its combination of golf and lifestyle facilities, Bashundhara SuperGolf aims to attract a diverse range of visitors, including young people, corporate professionals, families and golf enthusiasts.
The management expects the new facility to emerge as a prominent destination in Dhaka for sports, recreation and social gatherings, while contributing to the wider development and accessibility of golf in Bangladesh.
With its “More than just golf” concept, Bashundhara SuperGolf seeks to position itself not merely as a golf facility, but as an integrated lifestyle destination where sports, dining, entertainment and social experiences come together.
