Bangladesh women draw with Kazakhstan

Bangladesh women’s hockey team secured their first point in the women’s hockey event of the Asian Games during their fourth match.

On Friday, they played out a 3-3 draw with Kazakhstan in their Pool-A match.

In the match held last morning at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium, the Bangladesh women’s hockey team put up a spirited fight against the Kazakhstan women’s hockey team. Bangladesh women took the lead in the second minute.

The ‘Red and Green’ representatives ended the first quarter holding this one-goal advantage.

Kazakhstan women’s hockey team equalised in the second quarter, bringing the score to 1-1 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Kazakhstan women’s hockey team scored two goals within a span of five minutes to take a 3-1 lead.

However, a goal from Kona Akter brought Bangladesh women’s hockey team back into the contest.

Bangladesh women’s hockey team played brilliantly in the final quarter to hold off the Kazakhstan women’s hockey team.

Arpita Pal secured the point for Bangladesh with a goal from a penalty corner in the 47th minute.

Prior to this, Bangladesh women’s hockey team had lost their first three matches of the Asian Games against China women’s hockey team, South Korea women’s hockey team, and Malaysia women’s hockey team.

With one point from four matches, Bangladesh women’s hockey team stood at the bottom of the Pool-A.

Their opponents in the last Pool-A match will be against Chinese Taipei women’s hockey team.
