Kareena angry over blind imitation of Bollywood
In Bollywood, a film of a particular genre becoming a superhit means that other filmmakers are following the same path.
Kareena Kapoor Khan has strongly attacked this tendency of blindly copying that hit formula without any fundamental thought.
The star has directly criticised the ‘sheep herd mentality’ of the Hindi industry, citing the surge in violence in Bollywood after the massive success of Sandeep Reddy Bhangra’s film ‘Animal’.
Recently, while appearing in a chat show on ‘Yuva’, Kareena said, “Our audience is much more intelligent.
They understand which movie is good just by watching the trailer. Now we can’t be stuck in the old days when Animal was a hit, let’s also introduce violence and mayhem in our movies.
We are actually blindly imitating like a flock of sheep, what more can I say! Audiences now want to see deep, thoughtful works that make them think.
Gone are the days when audiences would run to the cinema halls just by making a comedy or when all the movies would do business of Rs 200-500 crores.”
