DAE, FIVDB sign MoU

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Sylhet Region, and Friends in Village Development Bangladesh (FIVDB) to strengthen cooperation in advancing agroecology and sustainable food systems. The signing ceremony took place at the office of the Additional Director of the DAE (Sylhet Region) in Dhopadighir Par in the city on Wednesday.

The project, implemented under the “Green Revolution: A Pathway to Transforming Food Systems” initiative, aims to establish more sustainable and resilient food systems grounded in agroecological principles.

The partnership between the DAE (Sylhet Region) and FIVDB will provide a platform for collaboration among agricultural extension officials, development workers, farmers and other relevant stakeholders.

The MoU is expected to strengthen knowledge exchange, capacity building, technical cooperation and institutional coordination in agroecology.

Additional Director of the DAE (Sylhet Region) Dr Md Mosharraf Hossain, Deputy Director of the DAE in Sylhet Md Shamsuzzaman, FIVDB Executive Director Bazle Mustafa Razi, FIVDB Director of the Livelihood Improvement Programme Md Fahim Sarwat, Programme Coordinator Delwar Hossain, Project Coordinator Mukul Das, Market Expert Sultan Mahmud, Agroecology Expert Rezaul Karim and representatives of other relevant stakeholders were present at the MoU signing ceremony.

The event was described as a significant milestone in advancing integrated and collaborative efforts to transform food systems and promote sustainable agriculture in Bangladesh.
