Two arrested with 287 Yaba tablets in Gaibandha

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two suspected drug peddlers along with 287 pieces of Yaba tablets from the Kamarjani Bazar area under Sadar police station in Gaibandha district on Wednesday night.

The detainees are Md Ashraful Islam, 36, of Dharai village under Sadullapur police station of Gaibandha and Md Kamal Hossain Sumon, 27, of Bahadurpur village under Kotwali police station in Jessore district, a press release said on Thursday.

On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13’s Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-3 from Gaibandha Camp, in a drive, seized the drugs and arrested the two persons from the Kamarjani Bazar area at 11:10 pm.

After filing a case in this incident, the elite force handed over the seized drugs and the arrested persons to Sadar police station in Gaibandha district, the release added.
