CoU inks pacts with 42 orgs
Comilla University (CoU) has signed agreements with 42 organisations as part of its efforts to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and expand opportunities in education, research, innovation, skills development, internships and employment.
A roundtable titled “Roundtable on Industry-Academia Collaboration Initiatives” was held on Tuesday afternoon at the vice-chancellor’s residence under the university’s New Campus Project.
The programme was chaired by CoU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Amzad Hossain Sarkar.
University Grants Commission (UGC) member Professor Dr Abdullah Al Mamun attended the event as the chief guest, while CoU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M M Shariful Karim was present as the chief patron.
Professor Dr Md Belal Uddin attended the programme as the keynote speaker.
Among others, Kazi Emdadul Haque, director general of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI); Dr Md Mahmudur Rahman, chairman of the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC); Dr Samina Ahmed, chairman of the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR); and Professor Dr Mohammad Asaduzzaman, director of the International Mother Language Institute, were present.
Representatives from various organisations, along with chairpersons of different departments and university officials and employees, also attended the programme.
The initiative aims to create stronger links between academia and industry, enabling students and researchers to gain practical experience while facilitating collaborative research, innovation and employment opportunities.
